Deutsche Bank Group and Maastricht University enter research cooperation on ESG issues
April 20, 2012, Deutsche Bank and Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (MUSBE) entered a long-term research collaboration on ESG-related (environmental, social and corporate governance) issues, focusing on areas of high relevance for various divisions of Deutsche Bank.
For the last 4 years Deutsche Bank’s institutional asset management division, DB Advisors, has already worked closely with the Dutch university. This agreement takes the cooperation to the next level. Dr. Sabine Miltner, Deutsche Bank’s Group Sustainability Officer and Deputy Head of the Environmental Steering Committee, believes this milestone collaboration will make an enormous contribution in obtaining substantial research on how ESG criteria will further influence investments and risk management.
At Maastricht University the cooperation will be headed by Prof. Rob Bauer, who leads the ECCE Institute (European Center for Corporate Engagement) and has been a member of DB Advisors' ESG Advisory Board since 2009. “Having Deutsche Bank as a sponsor will make a significant impact in propelling ESG investments into the mainstream”, stated Prof. Bauer. The first division to kick-off the collaboration is DB Advisors, represented by Frank Klein, European Head of ESG.
